My GoTo Guide:
Guide to Corals and Fishes of Florida, the Bahamas and the Caribbean by Daz & Jerry Greenberg, 1977 SeaHawk Press.Miami Florida “Take this book underwater when you dive or fish. The waterproof, tear-resistant pages contain descriptions and colour illustrations of 260 species of corals and fishes. Edible fish are identified.” Common and scientific names are given; index. View example coral page; example fish page. ‘Still available as a used book; and it can be viewed on the Web Archive.
Comment: Of course, depending on the use, such IDs may need to to be checked out for the current scientific name, also for similar species; iNaturalist can be a good place to start as it now has fairly good coverage of coral and fish species in the Caribbean.
