The Barbados Marine Spatial Plan is an innovative, and community-driven initiative, created to develop a marine spatial plan that is of, for and by the Barbadian people.
Through the design of a sustainable marine management plan informed by a stakeholder-driven process, the BMSP aims to foster the responsible use of marine resources, facilitate the enjoyment of the marine space, and nurture a profitable blue economy to benefit all Barbadians.The programme is led by the Government of Barbados, with the Coastal Zone Management Unit acting as the lead authority.
