“On August 14, 2018 Regional Council approved the final Halifax Green Network Plan. “Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) benefits from the full spectrum of open spaces, ranging from local neighbourhood parks to regional parks and wilderness areas. These open spaces function as the foundation for a sustainable Green Network; a system that shapes settlement, protects important ecological functions, retains lands for agricultural and forestry uses and provides recreational opportunities. The Halifax Green Network Plan (HGNP) builds upon these incredible natural assets to promote the long-term sustainability of the Region.”
