C. Bird's & C. Pross's Seaweeds of Gaff Point/Hirtle's Beach

Seascapes

These seaweeds on Hirtle's Beach and at the Gaff Point headland were collected and photographed by Catherine Pross in the period 2002-2004 with the collaboration of Carolyn J. Bird of the National Research Council laboratory in Halifax, Nova Scotia who also identified the species.

This page shows some of the sites where the seaweeds were observed.

The individual species of seaweeds are presented under Green, Brown and Red Seaweeds, the common names for the Phyla Chlorophyta, Phaeophyta and Rhodophyta.

Under "Notes", species lists are given for the various sites and dates of collections.
