WRWEO AGM 2014March 13, 2014: We had a well attended AGM yesterday evening. A new board was elected, Richmond Campbell was presented with a book "WRWEO Days" in appreciation of his 19 years as Chair or Co-Chair (and for much more), and Nanci Lee and Jessi Filmore led a discussion about Youth and Family Engagement. Amongst the activites suggested as priorities: family hiking on The Bluff, & "biocaching". Representatives from Five Bridges Trust and the St. Margaret's Bay Stewardship Association attended. One theme to emerge: the need and desirability to act collaboratively between the various groups on the Chebucto Peninsula in order realize certain common goals, e.g., addressing aquatic habitat and water quality issues. One of the participants was Troy N., a blind hiking enthusiast, who opened our eyes to other ways of exploring nature. |
