Walter Reagan, President of the Sackville Rivers Association forwarded an email he received yesterday from I.G. with some good news: Salmon fry were spotted in Sandy Lake watershed:<\/p>\n

I saw good numbers\u00a0 of salmon fry between Marsh and Sandy Lake a few days ago, every shallow eddy had a dozen or so, watched them feeding for several minutes, very nice to see. Great spawning substrate; the logs and sills are working well.<\/em><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

That’s Good News indeed and more reason to fight hard to protect Sandy Lake!<\/em><\/p>\n

About 10 days ago, a salmon was sighted in a \u201cclassic pose\u201d jumping right out of the water at Sandy Lake…”I\u2019m certain it was a grilse\u2014not an adult salmon. It jumped clear of the water and I happened to be looking in that direction and saw it in perfect profile.” The same observer told me that he had \u201ccaught and returned 9 smolt in the last 2 years\u201d, those caught while fishing for smallmouth bass.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
