Subject: Glyphosate (Roundup) not that benign

Dear Anna Maria,

Joe Schwarcz must have missed this important 2013 review paper on Glyphosate when writing his book. This comprehensive peer-reviewed paper by MIT scientists on glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, contains a great deal of risk information relating to gut dysbiosis in autism that is linked to widespread exposures to glyphosate, as well as major damage to the liver detox pathways that we all depend on to protect us from environmental toxins (these are called Cytochrome P450 enzymes or CYP for short).

In addition, the paper documents significant negative impacts on mental health, neurotransmitters, the bioavailability of zinc, and other serious physiological harm. There are clear implications for irritable bowel syndrome and gut inflammation, nutrient deficiencies, autism, cancer, disturbances in serotonin and dopamine levels linked to neurological conditions, memory problems, depression, Alzheimer's, ALS, Parkinson s, and a great deal more.

The paper was titled "Glyphosate's Suppression of Cytochrome P450 Enzymes and Amino Acid Biosynthesis by the Gut Microbiome: Pathways to Modern Diseases " and it appeared in the journal Entropy:
