A lot of the materials posted on the &#8216;old website&#8217; &#8211; that which existed up until the change of government in 2021 &#8211;\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/versicolor.ca\/nstriad\/ns-forest-notes\/re-archive\/\">disappeared<\/a> and the overall organization of the new website is difficult to discern. As <a href=\"http:\/\/nsforestnotes.ca\/forestry\/nsdnr-forestry\/who-does-what\/\">I have commented<\/a> when the Liberals were running the show, there is still no annual report available to the public listing and commenting on new projects, ongoing projects, publications etc and on who is doing what.\u00a0 \u00a0The department remains largely a &#8220;black box&#8221; to the public.<\/p>\n<p>I post <a href=\"http:\/\/versicolor.ca\/nstriad\/harvest-announcements\/\">new Harvest Notices<\/a> on this website as I receive them.<\/p>\n<p>It seems, at least for now,\u00a0 that the intention of NRR is to maintain postings on the HPMV and the separate <a href=\"http:\/\/versicolor.ca\/nstriad\/harvest-announcements\/\">Harvest Notices<\/a>\u00a0 as the principal venue to inform and receive feedback from the public regarding new harvests (re: the once planned Environmental Assessments &#8211; see post <a href=\"http:\/\/versicolor.ca\/nstriad\/2023\/02\/11\/why-was-the-port-hawkesbury-paper-fula-not-preceded-by-a-ea-or-equivalent-process10feb2023\/#more-1040\">11Feb2023<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Received from Forestry Maps today: The Harvest Plans Map Viewer is receiving an update to its legend that aligns with the Department&#8217;s continued work towards the implementation of Ecological Forestry on Crown lands.
