Clover's Healing Ways

Early seeded clover establishes more quickly than grass and can be used effectively to heal areas damaged by use of de-icing salt during the winter. The salt damaged area by walkway (left) was seeded with clover & grass April 10. I wait until after the first rains to seed the clover in these areas to allow rain to wash away residual salt. Applying some compost and a small amount of gypsum can also help ameliorate salt damage. - dp
