On blame..

I received an e-mail today, copied to a number of people, directing them to a YouTube Video.

SPECIAL REPORT: China’s deadly coronavirus cover-up

I replied:

There are a lot of really ugly comments about the video, some more thoughtful.

Anyway, here is the comment I posted:

It’s a global pandemic and fundamentally, the causes are global in nature, e.g., the west’s appetite for cheap goods fuelled the globalism that allowed it to spread so rapidly; long before that, Europeans’ appetite for resources spread deadly diseases to the native peoples of the Americas essentially wiping them and their cultures out. We need to acknowledge the details of how this particular pandemic spread to stop another one in the short term, and indeed the authoritarian government of China must shoulder much of the responsibility. But we also need to acknowledge the global conditions that allowed it to spread and to rethink how we live with each other and on the planet Earth.

A scientist’s notes on cv-19

From a painting by Vasile Ivanov

This website is a place where I will post what I assess to be reliable & useful or interesting info related to Covid-19.

Initially, and perhaps always, it is simply a place for me to collate such info for use by myself & as appropriate, family and friends. To the extent it is discovered and is useful to others, all well and good.

As I write, it is just two days since I and my spouse returned from away and we do have some symptoms. They are mild right now, and we may not have cv-19. Of course we are in total self(couple)-isolation.
