I was a member of the Biology Department at Dalhousie University from 1973 until my retirement in 2008. In 2003 I took out the domain versicolor.ca and have posted various materials including many photographs related to my informal natural history interests and related group activities there or provided links to such materials on documents posted under versicolor.ca. I developed several websites representing natural history/hiking/ environmental groups that were for a period, or continue to be maintained on the versicolor.ca webspace, and include photos I have taken which are also covered by this Creative Commons license.

The versicolor.ca website is archived on the Internet Archive WayBack Machine.

The basic intention of this license is to ensure these photos and related materials are freely available; I am especially happy if they can be used to promote positive interactions of people with the larger natural world of which we are all a part.

Attribution is appreciated. Just "Photo by David Patriquin" or any of the other name forms (dp, DGP etc.) are OK; also OK: "Nova Scotia Naturalist" Or "Settler resident of Mi'kma'ki".
